There were days in my childhood when I had to split one banana with my sister for dessert. There were days when dessert was not even an option – we just didn’t have any.

I come from a very poor family. On top of that, my parents have always thought that people who own companies are crooks, phonies, and bad people in general.

Needless to say, I had things to work on in my mindset. I still do. This type of programming (that comes from the very young age) is soooo deeply rooted in your subconscious, that it takes real work to be able to re-program your mind.

If you are someone who has come from a poor family background (like me), or never knew what’s it like to NOT live paycheck to paycheck – this blog post is for you!

While it takes deep digging to figure out why it’s so hard for you to become wealthy (read my post on journaling through this HERE), there are some mindset hacks that you can implement every day without putting too much effort into it. Even though these are small steps and will not take you more than a few seconds to implement, the payoff of doing these DAILY is amazing!

You can start re-programming your self-sabotaging subconscious mind with a few simple mindset hacks. Here we go!

I chose to start with identity work because this is one of the best-guarded secrets of all mindset coaches. It’s so powerful, very few of the industry leaders choose to reveal this. So open your eyesicles wide and read on!

You want to figure out who is the next-level of YOU. How would you act if you already had everything that you want to have? Write down the qualities of a person who already has those things.

  • How would this person feel?
  • What would they do?
  • What would be their daily tasks?
  • What would their day look like?

Once you have identified (and written down – paper and pen have more magic than you think) these things, start ACTING like this person. You’ll soon see that your goals will catch up to the new you.

Many entrepreneurs focus mostly on their business goals. The boss ladies are so busy, that they forget that they are HUMAN. And they have a body AND a mind to satisfy. Not JUST their business.

Before each day starts, set an intention to feel a certain way. If, for example, you want to be making consistent income from your current business, but it’s not happening yet, ask yourself, “how would I feel if I were making consistent money from my business?” (you can make it more specific, like $10k/month).

Once you identify how would you feel meeting that goal, write the feelings down. Let’s say, one of the ways you’d want to feel is SAFE.

Then, think of all the ways of how you can make yourself feel safe.

  • Do you feel safe in your home?
  • Do you feel safe knowing you have food in the fridge?
  • Do you feel safe while being hugged by your husband?

Do these things throughout the day to feel safe (or whatever feeling you have identified) and the money goals, again, will follow you eventually.

Why? Because your brain (along with your subconscious mind) cannot differentiate between just your thoughts or actual reality. If you make yourself feel safe, you will stop self- sabotaging yourself from allowing that money to come into your life.

Does that make sense? Let me know in the comments!

One of the reasons why, in my opinion, people stop pursuing their business ideas, is because they forget about the vision that they had once had.

You need to know your WHY when you are working on something. You wouldn’t start a car and just sit in it, right? You have a destination to reach, that’s why you get into the car!

Then why would you start a business or a project if you don’t know where you’re going?

Keeping the end goals and your WHYs in front of you (or in the back – whatever works for you), is as important as starting the journey.

Whenever you feel like you’re in a scarcity mindset or in a rut – just focus on your WHY.

You have probably heard the saying “gratitude is the best attitude”. I don’t know who came up with it, but they are a genius.

I once read Pam Grout’s Thank and Grow Rich. As soon as I finished reading, I started implementing her strategy – every morning, I would write down 3 things that I am grateful for.

How important is mindset in business?

I shit you not, my life changed in those 30 days. Every morning, I would feel such appreciation for everything that has been happening in my life – a feeling that I have never really experienced before.

I was used to complaining and whining about what I DON’T have. But once I shifted my focus towards being grateful for what I DO have, not only I became a happier person, but my business grew, too. I started selling a lot more and became way more inspired to create – which lead to more sales!

If you haven’t read Pam’s book, I HIGHLY recommend it. It’s a great read.

Now, this might not seem like a mindset hack, but it actually might be one of the most powerful ones from all the hacks listed in this article.

Look, sproutsicle. *puts on professor glasses* You need to understand that the primitive part of your brain is always trying to protect you from harm. We should all be thankful for that part, because without it, we’d probably be dead by now.

Yet, it’s sometimes called the PRIMITIVE part of the brain for a reason – it doesn’t serve you all the time. Sometimes, it actually holds you back from achieving great things.

Raise your hand (in the comments) if you know that you should be doing videos to grow your online business. But you don’t. Why? Because you’re scared. There may be many reasons why you’re scared, but this is how your brain is trying to protect you.

While you can consciously understand that filming yourself is not going to do you any harm, your subconscious knows that you are scared of things such as being judged, made fun of, getting expelled from your “tribe”, or nobody giving you love anymore.

Therefore, you start coming up with excuses on why you shouldn’t do it. Even though you know that it would be amazing for your business.

Start training your brain – do the things that scare you. Even if you take very small steps towards that. You will never get rid of fear. But you can choose to take action anyways.

Just thinking about something will not make it happen. You need to take action – even if it’s the tiniest bit of action.

You don’t need to work hard or push yourself to exhaustion. Properly taking care of your body AND mind will give you enough internal motivation to be able to take inspired action. Which feels great, trust me!

No matter how shitty you think you’re doing…. As long as you are DOING something… You’re still achieving more than the people who never start.

So, drop the perfectionism and do it ugly, if needed!

Whenever you tell yourself (or someone else) that you can’t afford something, you are continually perpetuating the idea that you are poor. Your subconscious mind remembers that you think you are poor. So it makes sure that you sabotage yourself enough to continue being poor.

Mind = blown yet?

But what to do if you really don’t HAVE the money right now to buy them gorgeous Louboutins right now? Or invest in a high-level coaching program?

Well, you always have a choice. ALWAYS. So, use that. Instead of telling yourself that you can’t afford something, switch it around and say: “I choose not to invest in this at this time”.

This way, you bring the power back into your hands and you acknowledge that you always have a choice.

This applies to any are of your life – whether it’s choosing to buy something or not, or working hard, or going out with friends.

You ALWAYS have a choice. All the choices that you have made in your life have brought you to the place that you are in right now.

This is one of the most difficult thoughts to grasp, I know. But once you do, you pull yourself out of the victim mindset. Once you do, you understand that YOU have the power to change your life. And the external circumstances have NOTHING to do with where you want to be.

You are the driver of this car. So, choose a destination and get there yourself instead of letting the Tesla’s autopilot do it for you. Because you know what’s best for you.
